Vendor FAQ
1 How does MakeMyUtsav work for vendors?
MakeMyUtsav connects you with customers looking for event services.
- You will receive booking requests on the app
- You can accept or reject requests based on the details shown
- After you accept, the customer confirms the booking by paying
- Once the booking is confirmed, you must complete the service
2 Do I need to upload my catalog or set pricing?
No. You do not need to upload services or images and you do not control pricing. MakeMyUtsav manages service listings, pricing, and customer acquisition.
3 How will I receive booking requests?
Booking requests will be sent to the app. You will see:
- Service details
- Date & time
- Location
- Final payout amount
4 Can I see my earnings before accepting a booking?
Yes. You will always see your final payout amount before accepting. You can decide to accept or reject based on that.
5 When is a booking confirmed after I accept it?
After you accept, the customer has a limited time to pay — short for instant bookings, and longer for scheduled bookings depending on how far away the event is. The payment deadline is shown on the booking in the app.
You will get a booking confirmation (app and email) once the customer pays. If the customer does not pay in time, the booking is closed — no service is required and no payout applies.
6 How do customers pay? What is a part payment?
Customers pay in one of two ways:
- Full payment — the customer pays the full amount to MakeMyUtsav.
- Part payment (booking amount) — available for eligible bookings. The customer pays MakeMyUtsav a booking amount (platform fee + GST + a portion of your payout amount). You collect the remaining amount directly from the customer at the time of service.
7 How do I record the remaining amount I collected?
- When you mark the service complete in the app, confirm that you collected the remaining amount. You can add a note (for example, "Received via UPI").
- If the service is completed automatically (for example, you forgot to mark it complete), the remaining amount is treated as collected.
- The customer may choose to pay the remaining amount online instead. If they do, you will be notified in the app and by email — do not collect it again. In that case MakeMyUtsav pays you the full payout.
8 When will I get paid, and how much?
Any pending payout (part or full) is paid on the next day after the service, to your bank account or UPI ID.
- Full payment (or part payment where the customer paid the rest online): MakeMyUtsav pays your full payout amount.
- Part payment where you collected the remaining amount: MakeMyUtsav pays the balance of your payout amount (the portion collected from the customer as part of the booking amount).
9 What happens if the customer cancels a confirmed booking?
No service is required. You may receive a cancellation compensation, paid out by MakeMyUtsav as per the platform's cancellation policy:
- Full payment — the compensation depends on how close to the service time the customer cancels; the later the cancellation, the higher the compensation.
- Part payment (only the booking amount paid) — your share included in the booking amount. Do not collect the remaining amount.
10 Can I cancel a booking after accepting it?
No. Once you accept a booking, it becomes mandatory to complete. In case of emergency, you must contact the platform immediately.
11 What happens if I don't show up (no-show)?
No-show is taken very seriously:
- Your account may be blocked or suspended
- Platform may refund the customer and recover the amount from you
- Legal action may be taken in severe cases
12 Are there any penalties?
Yes. Penalties may apply in cases like no-show, late arrival, poor quality service, or misbehavior with customer. Penalty may range from full service amount deduction to up to 3x of service amount (based on severity).
13 Who is responsible if something is damaged at customer location?
Vendor is fully responsible for property damage and any service-related issue. MakeMyUtsav is not responsible for damages.
14 Who handles customer complaints?
Customers may contact MakeMyUtsav. Platform will review the issue, may contact vendor for clarification, and will take a final decision.
15 How are invoices generated?
MakeMyUtsav will generate a service invoice on your behalf and a separate platform fee invoice.
16 Who is responsible for GST and taxes?
Vendor is fully responsible for GST registration (if applicable), tax filing and compliance. MakeMyUtsav does not handle vendor taxes.
17 Can my account be suspended or removed?
Yes. Your account may be suspended or terminated if you violate policies, receive repeated complaints, or engage in fraud or misconduct.
18 Do I need to arrange my own transport to reach the customer's location?
Yes. You are fully responsible for arranging your own vehicle or commute to the customer's location. MakeMyUtsav does not provide any travel assistance, vehicle, or reimbursement for commute expenses. Travel costs are entirely your responsibility and should be factored in before accepting a booking.
